Irritable Bowel Syndrome

IBS treatment.jpg

Clinical trials have shown that hypnotherapy is one of the most successful treatment approaches for IBS, reducing and improving IBS symptoms in a large majority of patients.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a source of chronic pain, fatigue, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, indigestion, nutrient deficiency, and other symptoms that have a significant effect on quality of life.

About one-in-five Australians suffers from IBS at some time in their lives, but women are more likely to get IBS and develop more serious symptoms.

The exact cause of IBS is unknown. The most common theory is that IBS is a disorder of the interaction between the brain and the gastrointestinal tract, although there may also be abnormalities in the gut flora or the immune system. However, the stress and anxiety involved in the distressing symptoms and discomfort of IBS adds to the severity of the symptoms and the debilitating aspect of the condition.

Who is more likely to develop IBS?

  • Women are up to two times more likely than men to develop IBS.

  • People younger than age 50 are more likely to develop IBS than people older than age 50

Factors that can increase your chance of having IBS include:

  • having a family member with IBS

  • a history of stressful or difficult life events, such as abuse, in childhood

  • having a severe infection in your digestive tract

What other health problems do people with IBS have?

Women are two times more likely than men to develop IBS

Is it food intolerance or IBS?
Food intolerance and food allergy can only be diagnosed by a medical professional, however,
approximately only 4% of patients with IBS have food intolerance.

Stress management is a crucially important component of managing IBS, and hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for relieving and managing stress.

By using hypnotherapy to help the subconscious mind to think differently, you can allow the body to react differently to stress.

A tailored
Rest Easy Hypnotherapy treatment program is very effective in helping people move beyond the experiences that cause ongoing Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and the debilitating symptoms.

A tailored Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy treatment program, in combination with tools  & techniques to practice in daily life, are effective in healing the experiences of the past that contribute IBS, while reducing the symptoms, so you can have freedom, eat the foods you like, with relief from those symptoms.
I can assist you in healing the root cause of IBS easily and effectively so you no longer experience the extreme and debilitating symptoms.

Over 95% of IBS occurences are a stress based reaction

Stress primarily occurs within the mind, and often the more we experience bouts of IBS, this creates a snowball effect where the symptoms also increase, and we can often find it tremendously difficult to move forward. This is where Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy are so effective for IBS because much of the healing occurs within the unconscious mind, which in turn heals the body and effectively ‘turns down’ the IBS response.

In addition to hypnotherapy, during a treatment session I will also show you tools and techniques to reframe unresourceful mindsets and beliefs. These positive mindset shifts change the way we think, what we believe about ourselves, and ultimately how we feel. This treatment program can enable you to enjoy your food, and digest it with comfort.

To explain simply, the mind, body and digestive system are linked
