Sleep is essential for good health. It refreshes the mind and repairs the body. It is so important to get the sleep you need, so that your body can regenerate and heal, and be able to support you in the coming day ahead. Sleep isn’t a static state of consciousness, in fact the brain is active during sleep and moves through distinct stages of sleep, over and over, every night. Adequate time spent in these sleep cycles is vital to restore the energy systems in the body, so that it can perform all the functions necessary for health and wellbeing.
Lack of sleep can cause fatigue, poor concentration and memory, mood disturbances, impaired judgment and reaction time, and poor physical coordination. A short-lived bout of insomnia is generally nothing to worry about, however chronic sleep loss is of concern, as it can contribute to health problems such as increased stress levels, high blood pressure, anxiety, pain, and a decrease in the immune system’s power to perform.
Hypnotherapy techniques to control and overcome those behaviours that prevent sleep from occurring can be utilised to help you to retrain your mind and body to rest, and allow sleep to occur naturally, so that you wake refreshed every day.
I suffered for over 20 years the merry-go-round of sleeplessness, insomnia, anxiety, relying on sleep medication; into learning and applying tools that work, studying hypnotherapy and sleep hygiene practices all which helped cure my own insomnia.

To explain simply the vast majority of insomnia that people experience is due to two simple causes:
1. Behaviours
2. Thought patterns which lead to hyperarousal. Hyperarousal is any type of heightened alertness such as anger, stress, anxiety or excitement.
These produce a physiological change in the body which leads to an increase in adrenaline and cortisol in the body, coupled with conscious thoughts and worries increase all of these symptoms of sleeplessness.
This is where Hypnotherapy and NLP are so effective because it actions the unconscious mind to create positive change not only in the mind but also the bodies responses.
In addition to hypnotherapy, during a treatment session I will also show you tools and techniques to reframe unresourceful mindsets and beliefs. These positive mindset shifts change the way we think, what we believe about ourselves, and ultimately how we feel, and enable cultivate a peaceful mind, achieve deep restorative sleep, and optimum health.
